MMASC is one of the oldest and the largest associations of its kind in the nation and is recognized by both the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) and the Cal Cities. The organization’s more than 800 members represent local governments serving an estimated 22 million residents across eight regions of Southern California. The membership is composed of City Managers, HR Directors, Analysts, Graduate Students, Interns, Executive Recruiters, Private Sector Consultants, Non-Profit Managers, County Administrators, and Special District professionals representing local governments within a nine-county area of Southern California. MMASC was formed in 1953 to address the professional needs of local government employees and their private sector counterparts.

Why YOU Should Join MMASC

As of February 1, 2026, MMASC will be adding a 3% processing fee to all invoices paid by credit card to cover the fees associated with credit card charges. We encourage you to use the “invoice me” options for membership, partner agreements, and event registration when needing time to process check requests. MMASC is pleased to offer its members a new online, web-based membership directory. Easy to use, it allows an MMASC member to instantly update his or her contact information record and all other members will be able to search and find contact information for their fellow current members and colleagues. Help to keep our records and contact information as up-to-date as possible.
