The City of San Leandro, CA is recruiting a motivated and versatile professional to join our team as Deputy City Clerk! This is a hands-on role where you’ll keep the City Clerk Division running smoothly by managing official records, resolutions, ordinances, contracts, and agreements, while ensuring compliance with the Public Records Act and the Brown Act.
This position also involves planning, managing, and implementing the City’s records management program, ensuring legal compliance with retention schedules, and developing and updating records retention policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will be a big-picture thinker who successfully balances multiple projects and priorities while maintaining strong organization and attention to detail. They will be goal-oriented and dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders. Excellent communication skills and the ability to foster productive working relationships with the public, City officials, and staff at all levels are essential.
Education and Experience Guidelines: Any combination equivalent to experience and education that would most likely provide the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be four years of increasingly responsible administrative support experience in a municipal government agency and the equivalent to an associate’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in public administration, business administration, or a related field. Experience in a municipal clerk’s office is preferred.

Salary Range: $9,680.00 – $11,765.00 Monthly
