The County of San Benito, California is seeking a strategic, hands-on, and collaborative Deputy County Administrative Officer (Deputy CAO) – Budget to lead the County’s budget function during a pivotal period of fiscal transformation. This newly created position is an exceptional opportunity for a driven public-sector finance leader to stabilize, modernize, and strengthen a countywide budget program while serving as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and the Board of Supervisors. The Deputy CAO – Budget will oversee end-to-end development and execution of the County’s annual operating budget, guide long-range forecasting, implement improved systems and processes, and build consistent, cooperative relationships across departments. The County will face a structural deficit in the coming fiscal year, and will need to develop both short-term and long-term strategies for fiscal integrity and revenue growth.
