The pandemic has affected how public agencies deliver services and fundamentally changed the public’s viewpoint on the role and impact of government in their daily lives. As California emerges from pandemic-related policies, elected boards need to reestablish organizational goals in light of the lessons learned from 2020. This session will discuss the benefits of establishing goals for agency staff and the communities they serve, the impacts of goals on organizational culture and teamwork, how agency staff can use the goals to keep their elected leaders focused, and float ideas on how to progress toward achieving the established goals.
