September 17, 2020, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ This session will take place via Zoom.
Over the past five months, the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has been a threat worldwide and we continue to navigate the “new normal”. We have seen cities and counties adjust their services and outreach to their communities, businesses and educational institutions fine-tune the way they operate, the closure of many small businesses and a rise in unemployment. During this time, demonstrations over Police brutality also continue to touch [and impact] our local communities. This is an extraordinary moment of pain for the nation, especially for people of color who are not only affected by the virus itself, but a social justice and equity pandemic which has shed more light on the symptoms of systemic racial discrimination.
Join our panelists, Chino Hills City Manager Benjamin Montgomery and San Luis Obispo Police Chief Deanna Cantrell for an interactive discussion on advancing diversity and inclusion, and how to create more equitable outcomes in our communities.
